200 skiers and riders, dressed as Santa, rang in the holiday season at Windham Mountain Resort this morning.  $6,500 was raised for the Windham Community Food Pantry.  Today marks the 9th annual event at Windham.

Participants were rewarded for dressing as Santa and making a $35 to the food pantry with free lift access for the day and for one additional day this season.  Tom Jakubowski, of the Windham Community Food Pantry was at the base of the mountain to accept a check from Chip Seamans, President & General Manager of Windham Mountain Resort.  They greeted participants and thanked them for their support as they made their way onto the mountain to enjoy the 146 acres of terrain open for skiing and snowboarding this weekend.  “Skiing and Riding Santa Day is always a great way for us to kick off the holiday season while helping to support the local food pantry”, Seamans said.

Snowmaking continues around the clock at Windham Mountain Resort and terrain is expanding quickly.  Construction on Westside Six, a new high speed, six passenger chairlift is in the final stages.  The new lift was part of an $8M capital investment this year at Windham, which also included RFID lift access technology and upgrades to snowmaking and grooming systems.
