Windham Mountain, Windham, NY (July 12, 2019) -
Music on the Mountain is bigger and better than ever in its third season at Windham Mountain. The event has been expanded to an eight-week-long series for 2019, which kicks off on Friday, July 12, 2019 and will run through Friday, August 30, 2019. Guests take a Skyride (scenic chairlift ride) to the mid-mountain Wheelhouse Lodge where live music is performed by a variety of local and regional artists. Admission to the event is free and all ages are welcome.
The chairlift opens to the public each Friday at 5:30pm and music will start at 6pm with the event ending at 9pm. The chairlift will run for the duration of the event, so guests may come and go as they please. Guests are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and camping chairs, however outside food and drinks are not permitted and coolers will not be loaded on the lift. A BBQ and outdoor bar will be open throughout the event.
The first week will feature Off the Record, a local band that plays tried & true rock & roll from the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s. On July 19th, Devon Franks will bring his energetic modern country to the mountain. July 26th will feature Jethro Tull tribute band, Johnny Scarecrow, and on August 2nd, Soul Purpose, a seven-piece New Orleans style funk band will play. August 9th brings top Allman Brother’s tribute band, Brothers of the Road and EZGrass will deliver their refreshing acoustic Americana on August 16th. Country songwriter RJ Scounton will perform on August 23rd and on August 30th, New York City’s premier party band, Nite-Time Band will wrap up the season.
Music on the Mountain is presented by GNH Lumber with additional support provided by Briars and Brambles Books, Garzone Inc. Plumbing & Heating, Karen's Flower Shoppe & Gifts, Smitty's Nursery & Landscape, and Vesuvio Restaurant. Gift cards for these local businesses will be raffled off at each event.
